The Department of Chemistry, Moridhal College was established in the year of 2006. The higher secondary courses were introduced in the same year and the general course of under graduate level was introduced in 2009. The major courses have been started since the 2011-12 academic session and it was the first batch in the semester system under Dibrugarh University. The department got Govt. concurrence on 19th May 2009 and permission for both Major and General courses on 7th July 2010. The department was fully sanctioned in 2023, under a resolution passed by the Government of Assam.
The department currently has three faculties, with expertise and experience in teaching as well as research. The department provides skill-based career guidance to the students, apart from regular academics.
Intake capacity: 30 in B.Sc. Chemistry (Hons.)
We aim to inculcate an interest in Chemistry among the students and to become the torch-bearer of Chemistry Education in the Dhemaji district.
